Help with Avid install

I must be missing something, this seem like it should have been so easy! Please help. I just got my Avid light bar back from powder coat and could not figure out the install. I took the lower nut off, put the bar on, let it hang but there is no room to get the top nut off or move a socket. If I take off the top nut first and tread that will I have room to move a wrench or socket? FYI The truck is not up on a lift, I am on the garage floor.

Try Taking your grill off
2 Screws, 2 Clips, pull straight up to release plug-in clips at bottom.
Search grill removal if need be
Should be able to then reach the nut
It is a tight fit
Helps to have a second person holding the bar

Yeah if I remember, that top bolt is a bitch but it can be unscrewed. Your just gonna have to be creative.

 

I removed the nuts with a socket wrench and breaker bar. Didn't have to remove the grill.

 

Yup, I didn't need to remove the grill either,
but it sure made it easier to reach and tighten the upper nuts.

BTW: if I remember correctly, you want to torque the nuts to 42 or 43 foot/pounds.

Tacomaworld rocks!! You guys are the best...I went out a played 9 holes to clear my mind, came home and the help I need was there. Took both nuts off, put the bar on, somehow threaded the nuts back on, and got a socket wrench in that tiny space. I don't know how I could get a torque wrench in there. That's for a later time...they are on there pretty tight for now. Thanks again everyone!!
