before the summer gets in full swing i been throwing around the idea of cutting some of my ARB bumper back to allow for more room on full compression of my tires...

i had an issue last year in moab when i hit some whoops and the last one was a hard hit...well my tires got stuffed and outside of my tread got slashed by my bumper...

so i'd like to avoid having that happen again...i was thinking of cutting a few inches in from the bottom corner to the top original corner to make a more angle..

    like so..

anyone try something like this before?

look at selling the arb and getting a shrockworks piece. that way you are not decreasing the value of the bumper you have and you will get your required clearance. i run the shrockworks on my xterra with 31s and ive never had an issue

yea trying not to drop hundreds in gaining more clearance...that thought has crossed my mind...but the $ i'd get for my used bumper will still leave me few hundred short...

new ARB...$850-950 so used would be ~$700-750?

bumper that would fit my needs with shipping >$1,000...

A plasma cutter would make quick work of that with minimal effort.

yea my buddy has a plasma and cutting wheel, and was thinking the cutting wheel would be a straighter cut, but i guess you could just grind down to make it a smooth and straight cut...i'd have to grind after the cutting wheel anyway

then i'm thinking i'd have to weld on a lip like the original had on the back, but may not even be necessary with the extra clearance...
