vibration when accelerating from a stop

My truck vibrates when accelerating from a stop. It used to always to it a little but seems to have gotten worse.

the only things I've done is a 2.5" King Shocks lift in the front with the toytec TSB add-a-leafs in the back. tires are BFG A/T KO's 265/70/17.

Any ideas????

And vibes after lifting are quite common. When you change the angle of the driveline, things are gonna shake a bit...

Stop to what? Stop to 10 mph or stop to 70? Makes a difference.

OK, I see much clearer

It stops at probably 3-5 mph very brief....if I accelerate really slow it doesn't do it.

 

Mine does it at about 15-25 stock.

 

May want to check your U-joints. I had a u-joint go bad & felt what you are feeling.

 

Lots of posts on this - Carrier bearing angle and weak rubber internal support in it. Raise it and the angle changes - even the rear spring TSB effects it - makes it worse. Mostly at take off and when slowing and shifts into 1st when I feel it.

My truck has the OME lift with the 2"AAL and this fixed it for me. Your results may vary.

 

Crawldad, I tried using washers already with no effect. It probably dropped about .5"-.75". Any other ideas?

How much does toytecs kit drop it?

What is the point if it anyways, why does the Tacoma have a two-piece!? My ram didn't and it was longer.

Hey the ram was a good truck in many ways the Tacoma isn't. I Appriciate both actually. Overall the Tacoma is better but the ram didn't have vibration issues

 

Hey bud I had this problem and it was because I had recently done a rear diff oil change, have you messed with your diff and maybe used synthetic? If not and I were a betting man I would say U bolts, tighten those bitches to 90lbs torque at least. A lot of guys on here have found that to stop that stutter after doing a lift etc.

 

You could try a rear axle shim. This will rotate the axle on the perches. The pinion will rotate up putting it more in line with the drive shaft.

 

Mine does as well...There is a TSB for this. Replacing the rear transmission mount if the vibes are between 15-13 on 2007-2008 Im going to have it done at the next oil change.

Very interested in this . . . we're not supposed to use synthetic gear oil, even if it meets specs? Does this apply to LSD or open differentials, or both?
