I did the Reverse Camera Mod today to turn it off or on when i want, and I knew it only stays on for 5 minutes at a time, so I was wondering if anyone here knew why it shuts off after 5 minutes. Will the monitor in the rear view mirror burn out? Is the wiring only designed to have power running through it for a certain length of time? Any input you guys have will be appreciated.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
My guess would be that Toyota doesn't think you would be in reverse for that long of a period.
