I searched and found alot of threads about this already, but none had any answers. I would like to hook up an oil pressure gauge, and a tranny temp gauge. Anyways, I was wondering what needs to be done, and it it's even possible to do this on my 2010 trd sport, automatic transmission. Does the oil sandwhich adapter between the filter work well? Idk, I just need to know everything I need and need to do so I can try. Also what temperature ranges would I need for them?

Would any of these work? Or would I need additional stuff?

What size adapter would I need, or is there a better way

    Or these, are they better?

Additional info is helpful and appreciated. Thanks in advance

You goign to have problem getting any of these in Toyota. Oil pressure is complicated because our sending unit is dummy and only takes minimal pressure. Sandwich plate may not work with out cutting that splash guard around the oil filter.
As far as tranny temp goes there is no place to put the temp plug other then where the drain plug is (and thats not very good place to begin with)

I needed trans temp gauge because I do a lot of towing. I got tired of waiting for scangauge to come up with the codes, ever time I call they say "One more month" for the last three years.

I bought an aeroforce and it works great. Here is a great link for interpreting transmission temperatures and implications for your tranny.

If you know which trans temp line is the output hot side you could stick the sender in a tee in that line. Be easy to plumb in. I did it on my car, works fine.

It may not be the optimal point but sometimes you don't need a totally accurate measurement as much as you need to know when you're running outside of the normal range so you can back it off some.

The service manual says that maximum normal ATF operating temperature is 80C/176F.

The transmission will store a DTC and turn on the Check Engine Light if the ATF temperature reaches 110C/230F (2 trip detection logic). It alters shift point and lockup if the ATF temperature reaches 130C/266F. It turns on the overheat warning light (if provided) at 150C/302F.

The Glowshift adapter works awesome, I use it on both my GTI and Taco with the Elite series.
