I am not putting down the Tacoma Sport... if that was the only TRD made, then I would be driving one!

I am pushing the poorly advertised traction systems, that make a huge improvement in drivability off road, in the OFF ROAD TRD.

By-the-way, the suspension is pretty soft on it, too soft for many and requiring a TSB spring upgrade for some!... So, drive one before presuming stuff.

I did drive a SPORT, and that is why I can say that the fake hood scoop is an issue to serious off roading... which I know the SPORT wasn't built for. In fact, seems to me, the SPORT has been billed as having a FIRMER ride??!!

bolded=wrong. #1, the shocks are the same, the progressive rate coils vs standard coils are the difference....#2, the rear leafs are the same, #3, the larger sway bar is on the sport.

then bolt it up!! :D mine is coming back off this weekend w/ the front end rebuild.

i call BS...all you do is talk shit about the scoop and whore out the ATRAC constantly. larry's and kevin's sports will run circles around that stock OR "baja proven" truck w/ ATRAC...

and anyone that seriously offroads is going to be swapping out all of the suspension and doing traction mods anyway...

toyo propaganda. if you look at the suspension TSB for the harsh ride, the trucks are broken into "non-TRD" and TRD. sport and OR both get the same equipment for rear springs. and the yellow bilsteins on both have the same P/N, IIRC. the "tuning" for sport and OR is in the front coils.

I really wish the salesmen at the dealerships knew this information.. When I bought mine I was told the color matched items and the hood scoop were the only difference. I needed a long bed and I now know you can't even get the OR in LB, but rear locker and atrac would be awesome

lol. in that case, i think the progressive rate coils on the stock ORs are firmer on the road and softer offroad

    there ya are!!!

after i had owned my 07 for over 1 1/2 years and been on here most of that time, i traded it in on an 09. the salesman didnt even know the names of the new colors, what models had the smoked headlights, and a few other things. he even told me they sent him to training for that crap. apparently it wasnt too good.

I have the 09 trd offroad. Just to clarify, I should use the A-Trac prior to engaging the rear locker if I'm stuck?
