Might not help much, but when I was shopping around for a Tacoma, I saw an 08 Double Cab, Short Bed, Prerunner sr5, for 27,500, with over 45,000 miles on it. I bought an identical new 2010 truck for 24K. Beats me, but I think Toyota tries to sell you on their extended warranty for used cars. just my 2 cents

Valid points. I suppose my "good deal" comment was aimed towards the trade amounts he provided. Regardless of the unknown facts, only taking a $4000 hit after two years off the lot speaks for the value of the trucks we all own and love.

I will have to check the numbers, will post back so we can see if I truly got a good deal. I know that what it shows on the amount given for the trade was $20,000 then they paid off my truck from that amount and the remainder was used towards the new truck. I guess about 3 grand or more including some kind of tax break.

Well after looking through the numbers the main thing for me is that they did give $20,000 in trade value, meaning after the payoff I was able to use about $2,600ish towards the new truck. After 2 years and 18,500 miles I think that is a pretty good trade in.

The original financed amount was just a tad under $24,000 so I think that is awesome. I did have some extras like backup camera, cruise control, TSB, etc but those were all done cheap or free thanks to this forum :) I am sure all those things helped the trade in too.

The price of the new truck defintely was more than the Pre-Runner but I feel good that my vehicle will hold its value well. The total amount financed is just about $5000ish or more than my Pre-Runner was with all the goodies like 4x4 now though :D

Good credit helps with interest in the long run also.

    Nice truck!

Quick question though; I thought TRDs came with a color matched grill and hood-scoop?

King I hear what you are saying, hell I comb the forums looking at what I can get a truck for as well as other items. I probably did get bamboozled by the dealer especially with the shiny 4x4 waiting for me to drive.

I am just going by what I see on the papers, $20,000 for my trade, the amount needed for payoff taken out of that, then remainder added to the new one. It was more for sure than the Dodge I traded as mentioned and I did not have anything from that to place on the new vehicle at that time.

Now If I got really detailed then I paid quite a bit for the Pre-Runner if you take into consideration gas, maintenance, mods, add-ons, interest, etc, etc. I was just feeling good about the thought that I got what I felt was a good deal on the trade, made feel good about the purchase of a vehicle that I can at least make some of the money back on if I take care of it and for some reason needed to sell.

The total financed amount for the new truck was: $30,700 TTL, etc with a very low interst rate (lower than previously)

Whether or not that is a good deal I am not sure, but $2,600 (plus some kind of tax break amount $1,200ish) of the money that went into it came from the Tacoma I traded in.

I forgot to mention that my buddy just bought a Nissan Pro-4X and for his 2009 Nissan SE he only got about $17,500 or less, he may have said that they tried to give him a lower amount but got them for more by printing out a trade in quote.

His new Pro-4X is awesome, I think in some ways it is a better truck for the things he got for the same or a lil less money. Leather, sunroof, etc.

I just love my Tacoma though, that is my truck! :) :)
