Do any of you secretly wish

...you had a metal bed? Seems like all the Frontier guys rag on the yota about the "plastic bed"

My tacos are basically babied and only mega Costco runs, mulch and the occasional sofa so I don't care much.

What about you guys?

 

Nope, I've actually been impressed with how the plastic bed holds up. It's got some metal in it though because certain areas are magnetic. I found that out looking for a ground for some lights, specifically the rear posts near the tail lights. Not sure about the rest of the bed.

 

MEtal beds dent and ding, and you need to put a liner in them. I love my bed. It carries my dirtbikes and gear just fine

 

My plastic bed won't rust, dent, doesn't need a bed liner, and if my bedsides rust I can just bolt new ones on.

 

i love my bed! i just wish the toe down points for when im hauling two dirt bikes were a little more secure.

 

Did you add D-rings to the front of the bed like those that are in the back? Very secure for hauling bikes.

 

LOL, there is a thread with the same type of title on the Club Frontier forum. Asking if they wish they had a Tacoma.

lol I'm reading it now. . . Seems like every post about why they bought a Frontier instead of a Taco is because it was $5k cheaper. You get what you pay for I guess

 

I don't care.I did rent a home depot truck today to pick up 44 cinder blocks (38lbs each) and 5 80lb cement bags cuz I didnt want my bed to crumble

 

Frontier owners show their own doubts about their purchase by trashing on our tacomas.

 

Nope, love my bed, beat the heck out of it and no problems at all.

 

Next the frontier guys will poke fun at ,what? the battery? BUAHAHA ..."and its bolted down."
Their point has no relevance on the bed, anymore than ford being better for having a bigger bed bolt and making an add out of it. Who will have the roundest steering wheel next?

I'd guess when they can't enjoy what they have, you try to make sure others don't enjoy what they have and enjoy.

 

If I lived in the salt belt a plastic bed would be nice. I prefer my metal one out here in the desert though.

 

I have read a lot of posts on this forum, I have never seen anyone that had trouble with the composite bed.

 

I love my plastic bed. Don't have to worry about rusting back there because of the shit that that I throw in there. Also, if it does get damaged, it is relatively easy to replace....

 

^And cheaper.

 

I prefer the plastic... rust, durability, dings, etc...
