I have received numerous PMs asking to see the Dealer Service Invoice so I am scanning and posting here for all. I have redacted my identifying info and the dealer's and I ask that you not call them.

I truly think the key to getting this done was that fact that I noted it early with the service department, documented every communication I had with them, the techs and so on, I also communicated with them every 30 days about the noise and how it got louder each month (be the squeaky wheel - or bearing), used this TW forum to support my request to have this done, provided them bushing info from the ECGS website, bought and provided the ECGS Bushing at my expense, and just got lucky.

So on the invoice, they noted "installed aftermarket bushing" in the section where I asked them to re torque the factory bolts - part of the 30K mile servicing. not sure why they noted it there or why they worded it that way.

And I had my transmission flushed and filled.

Has anyone had a "rumble strip" type vibration at highway speeds (55+ mph)when slightly turning right putting more force on the driver side wheel from this needle bearing? Seems fine without turning. Just put in Toytech ultimate 4 months ago. There is some slop in the CV coming out of the diff, so I'm sure i need the bushing. Just wondered if anyone has had this same vib at turning speeds?

^ This. If anything, the vibration on the needle bearing increased when turning left, not right.

This is great, I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm going to try the same thing and see if Toyota will honor repairing my truck.

I have these symptoms EXCEPT it doesnt go away in 4wd. Turning doesnt effect it either. Its a constant groan.

Has anyone had this issue and not have it go away in 4wd? If so does the ECGS still fix the problem?

raised 5100's to 1.75" and had vibe 30-40mph but went away in 4x4 - installed bushing a week ago and vibe free for 400 miles. The garage god must have been on my side, all I did was disconnect the outer tie rod, brake line bracket, sway bar and two lower bolts holding the lower ball joint. Knocked on the cv axle to break it free and swung the entire hub towards the rear of the wheel well and rested it on a bucket. Used a pry bar and spun the cv axle 1/8 incraments and it popped right out. I made my own removal tool and the needle bearing came right out. The bearing and cv shaft did not show any signs of wear. Installed new one and torqued everything down. Fingers crossed....and thanks ECGS!

Need to install my ECGS bushing, but need a new CV axle as well. Anyone know a decently priced CV axle other than OEM? And anyone have the tool I could borrow? Thanks, Matt

took me about 4 hours with a few breaks for friends stopping over. Changed the front diff fluid also. I was quoted 4 hours from a local garage before I decided to save the $ and do it myself.

Ouch. I may look into doing it myself now. That's like $600 shop time here in Alberta. Did it fix your vibe problems?

    FYI,

if you undo the two bolts holding the lower ball joint you can actually swing the entire hub assembly out enough to pull the CV out of the diff. No need to disassemble the hub.

I removed the brake line bracket, sway bar link and two lower ball joint bolts and swung the entire assembly to the rear and set it on a bucket - plenty of rooom to remove cv axle and work on the bushing.

one tip, if your upper sway bar link bolt turns, instead of putting an allen key in the end, grab it from the otherside with a pair of needle nose pliers to stop it from spinning and you can still use a socket wrench.
