Loose Front Drive Shaft/Vibration

I've noticed a slight vibration that comes and goes in the front end of my 07 Tacoma TRD Sport. It will go away when I engage 4H. I've gone through the whole tire and wheel balance issue and actually found out I had a couple damaged rims. I climbed under my truck and noticed that the driver side front drive shaft has a lot of play in it when I grab it with my hand. The passenger side has little to no play so I'm thinking my vibration is related to the loose driver side shaft. Any thoughts? Could the damage extend into the front differential?

 

I should also mention that I'm grabbing the front shaft at the point it enters the front differential.

 

My 2011 dcab has had alot more play on the drivers side then the other side since it was brand new.. only has 3500 miles on it right now.. going to ask the dealer next time..

 

Many have that vibe, especially when lifted. Maybe even all lifted 4WD's have the problem, as some people don't notice it. I have yet to drive a lifted 4WD without the vibe ...
There are many, many posts on it as well, the infamous "goes away when switching to 4WD vibe". I have this problem for 35K miles and 3 years now, and it appears to not be getting worse.
