I was wondering if its possible to basically mount maybe 3 decent sized flood lights on the the actual grill surround. Like basically if you were to cut out the inside of the grill like if you were to make a satoshi, but instead of putting the mesh in the back, you just mount the lights to the upper lip of the grill surround. Has anyone done this? does it look good? would the grill be able to support the weight? pics?

Oh yah. That makes sense. I was thinking what if you mount it behind the grill, made a satoshi, and cut holes in the mesh to accomodate the lights and just frame them flush with the grill somehow. But you would still have some arms coming from the light bar to the lights. It would look pretty sick, but that just seems like more work than its worth.
