making a wierd wining noise

    i brought my taco back to the dealership service dept for inspection yesterday. they said it was one of the wheel bearings being shot. they're replacing under warranty and hopefully nips this problem in the bud.

    wheel bearing! come on!!!!! you were in the drive way reving it up, i dont think thats your flipping wheel bearing. wow! im kinda wowing you, but mainly the stealership. (wanted to say that so you didnt think i was 100% wowing you) :)

    it is the idler pulley for the serp belt. Less than $100 repair. Mine did the same thing

    Take off your serp belt and spin all your idlers, and alt, p/s all that by hand. If it feels smooth its ok, if it feels like its full of gravel replace whatever it is.

    i have the same noise and I think it sounds like the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve. I can put my finger on it and feel it vibrate and hear the sound at the same time. I wonder if I could spray some lub on it and get it to stop whinning?
