Ordered a UWS Black Slimline toolbox for my truck today. Any opinions on these? Also, any tips on mounting these with the fiberglass bed?

    Thanks

I drilled a single hole in the bottom of the metal rail system on each side for the J bolt. I found that was the easiest for me.

    One method- http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/79508-kobalt-toolbox-install-w-grip-rites.html

Pros- Looks very clean. OP says it is very secure.

Cons- Must buy 30 dollar mounting hardware. Give up 2 bed cleats.

If 30 bucks is no issue and you don't mind using the bed cleats, go with this ^ one.

    Another method (mine :D)- http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...write-up-tool-box-mounting-using-j-hooks.html

Pros- Cheap. 4 j-hooks, 4 washers. Stays VERY secure.

Cons- My guess is that the j-hooks will need to be re-torqued every so often(hasnt been needed yet). Your box would require four holes to be drilled instead of the two used in the above build. If you need more detailed explaination, PM me.

I used the stock cleats to bolt mine in. 2 of them and then 2 j bolts. Didn't drill anything, just used a cut off wheel to cut off a bit of plastic on the cleats.
