How can i get rid of my check engine light?

05 Prerunner Trd sport SR5 3" lift

Just bought an 05 Tacoma Trd Sport.
And it has Thorley headers on it and, because of this my check engine light
has come on. Its on because the O2 sensor reads different than the stock headers.
So my question is can I run the code throught the computer so it reads the new headeds
or do I need a new chip?
I already know how to disconnect the positive terminal to reset the computer but I need the light to stay off to pass smog in CA.
Any ideas?
