Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I just got my truck last Monday and today decided to try her out in 4lo when I put it in it makes a constant and very annoying beep! Why does it do that? Keep in mind this truck is brand new so there won't be a PO to blame here. Is there a way to stop it? I may to some light wheeling with my truck now and then and don't want to/refuse to listen to that beeping, any ideas? Also keep in mind I don't know anything about newer cars!;)

Did you stop and put it in neutral ?

If not , the flashing and beeping is telling you it hasn't engaged .

Lol there is nothing wrong with you truck bud.... If it only beeps once it means it is engaged into four lo..... if it is a constant continuous beep... that means it is not engaged into four lo....

Edit: to ensure the truck goes into four lo... make sure the clutch is fully engaged when you turn the selector switch

That means its not in 4lo. Your doin something wrong. You need to be in h4 first. And be in neutral to shift into 4L

You wanna go into 4lo stopped, in neutral, wheels straight, brakes off, no driveline bind.

If it doesn't work touch the clutch, roll a few inches, try again.

Nothing makes it beep like being in a line of 20 cars and it's now your turn to roll forward and attack the hill. It'll beep like a sumbich then. :p

I dont think you have to be in neutral with a 6 speed, but its the only way i can get mine to lock in 4lo. Shift to neutral, depress clutch turn to 4lo. Works everytime for me. If im not in neutral, it never works.

Make sure the clutch is pressed all the way as far as it will go. If it has any travel left, 4-Lo won't engage.

3mph or less, press in clutch, turn switch, repeat until it stops blinking/beeping. It takes many cycles for it to be smooth/broken in.
Nothing wrong with beep/blink. Just not engauged and it's letting you know... Try again.

Just went through the same thing with mine except it would go into 4 low and stay there! The only way I was able to get it out was to disconnect the battery got back in turn on the key and it came right out. The dealer tried to get it to screw up and it wouldn't tried it a dozen times I picked it up and tried to lock it up again and couldn't even do it in their parking lot on the hard top and it has worked perfectly ever since. I really think it needs to be used several times when it is new to get every thing well oiled. You do have to push the clutch right to the floor if you have a floor mat take it out and try it again if you can't get it into low range.
