PreRunner is the model. It's a 4x4 style (suspension, stance, etc) without the front wheel drive components.

what they said, but it is still a Tacoma, but it could be a Tacoma PreRunner or Tacoma 4x4

Not to be a smart a** or anything, but what does your paperwork say? It should be listed on there under vehicle type/model. If you bought it new, look at the window tag. It will either be a Tacoma Pre-Runner or Tacoma 4x4.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
I have to say we in the New England area, never hear of the word "Pre-Runner"

Sounds like your insurance company doesn't really have it together if they can't figure that out :/

mystery solved, well sort of. the window sticker lists the truck as an 08 Tacoma PreRunner. The tail gate has badges that say Toyota Tacoma (left side) and PreRunner V6 SR5 (right) and of course the bed has the TRD Sport sticker as if it wasn't already confusing enough. thanks

no, i knew exactally what the truck was, that was never the question. i requested all options and packages that are on the vehicle. the question at hand is one of semantics. wanted to know what the truck is called. i call it a tacoma, my insurance company apparently prefers to classify it as a prerunner.
    end of story

And I could buy one right now, tonight, if I wanted one. Don't come and brag like you have something on me or anyone else, sporty. Things like hood scoops just don't do it for me but if it helps lengthen your penis, more power to you.

And I have a TRD Off Road..

Whats your point? Somebody laughs because you can't figure out what truck you own, so you jump at them and try to say your truck costs more money than his?

    Cry me a river, princess.
