I've had 2 black ones. The 2004 DC is long gone, but I still have the 1989 RC. Folks bug me to death wanting to buy that thing.

That 89 reminds me of the 93' I had. (non 4x4) same bumper though, I forget the name of those but they were sweet. I miss that truck, had it for 17 years.

I can't take credit for taking care of the 89. I bought it from the guy that bought it new in 89. He was in his 70's when I bought it. It was dead stock and looked like it had been in a time capsule and only had 119k miles. That was in about 2008. I lifted it, threw on some 35s, and geared it with 4.88s. Best part...I only paid $2800!!

Got my 2008 Off-Road yesterday. Lift, wheels, and tires are ordered. What are you gents doing for black housed headlights? i've taken them apart and painted them on another car back in the day but hated doing it and these have a little haze on them already. Has anyone tried the aftermarket ones from ebay? They're only $100 but didn't know if they lookd awful in real life.

Most of use take them apart and paint the bezel. Some of use take them apart and paint the whole thing and retrofit a projector. It all depends. I only like the oem looking ones with the black housings. The cheap halo ones made by spyder look like hell to me.

I painted the housing and left the bowl alone and retrofitted with a black projector shroud

Yeah, I don't like the halo ones either. How are the quality on the oem looking ones?

How hard is it to retrofit? I love the look of them but don't know if I could pull it off or not doing it myself. Plus, what's a fair price for a retrofit kit? I don't want to break the bank...
