Trimmed My Front Mud Flaps

As soon as i got the Taco, i noticed the mud flaps had to aquire some maintenance time! I hated how low they were! So with the help from my friends at Tacomaworld i trimmed them. First i cut 5" off, then i noticed it still wasn't enough. So I cut another 1 1/2" off for a total around 6 1/2" .. With that much cut off, they still hold all the road debris and dirt off the side! Whatya think?

i did the same thing, they were so low they would rub on speed bumps.

and yes your tires look shot

 

They are shot.. Thats why i'm waiting to put these on

The tires are not only shot but they look, from the pictures at least, that they are wearing on the edge more than the middle. Keep after your tire pressure, at least do the chalk test to find the correct pressure. Then check suspension geometry, don't want to trash those new tires do ya. Nice job on trimming the flaps.

 

I purchased the truck with 27,000 Miles on it.. The tires were worn whenever i got them and i'm just now getting to put the new tires on.. Waiting for Eibachs to get in so i can get an alignment and balanced out! So i will do as soon as i get everythign situated.. Thanks!

 

Looks good. I took mine off and got a ticket in the middle of the desert going to Vegas. Ridiculous. I had my friend sign off the ticket.

No joke. I had my wife and kids in the truck and we were headed to Vegas on Tuesday morning of Spring Break. I was driving with Cruise set at 74 across the desert and he lit me up. I used to drive an F350 and a Jeep LJ and never had any issue with 35's and no flaps. I checked the vehicle code that he quoted and it was very grey. He wanted an excuse to find something else, clearly. I was floored and pissed but didn't show it because I wanted to get out of there beforee he popped me for tinted windows as well.

 

Looking good. I did three inch cut on mine but might cut more after seeing this.

 

Meant to trim mine, but then I backed out of tight spot and had to ride up the curb. Curb ripped the flap completely off, so I just removed the other side. Now I'm running flapless up front.

looks good. cut 4" off mine,thanks to tacomaworld.I can't believe how many problems these mudflaps are causing. never had a problem with the "95" flaps.
