I was told that water can travel into the diff breather (and could slowly cause problem with your diff) if you plan to traverse flood water. Moving the diff breather to a higher location give me less worry if I have to traverse in flood water, and here in texas it does flood alot on the road.

Great looking truck, who makes the top you have on it? I'm trying to get a Reg Cab 4x4 and would like to get a shell for it if I end up pulling the trigger.

I'm not sure which one Tex has on his, but I'm planning on getting an ARE Z-series for mine. I know ARE makes a few, and I'm pretty sure that Leer does too.

It is made by Astro and its their LED series. I have been pleased with the top. I have never had one before and it has been great for locking stuff up and keeping it dry.

I noticed when I was purchasing my RegCab 4x4 that they were taller than all the other access cab and 4door Tacomas (2x4, Pre-Runners, and 4x4). Mine is actually taller than a 2wd Tundra (Not sure about a 4x4 Tundra). It is also taller than a 4x4 Nissan Titan (Not those decked out ones that are the limited edition versions). Is there a reason for this? Or is it Toyota's way of making you remember all those old rusted regular cab tacos that looked like they always had a lift and was bullet proof.

    =)

Damn I wish those regular cabs were available in Canada. That's how a truck is supposed to look as far as I'm concerned.

Yep, and that's another reason I wanted one... almost no one else has them here. I looked at bringing a new one up from Washington when I first started shopping, but with the exchange rate at the time it would cost about the same as an '09 access cab would here. The extra seats have been a blessing at times.... but a curse at other times.
