Brake click fix

    So after a quick search on TW I found that the front brake click I was hearing the first time a depressed the brakes was the pads shifting in the calipers...after reading a bunch of threads it appears this is NORMAL. my question is, is there any fix besides buying fresh pads?

    I dont think fresh pads will fix it either. My 2011 does it as well. It doesnt bother me but it is kind of embarrasing at like a gas station or something where people can hear, because it can be loud sometimes.

    Agreed^ that's why I'm looking for a fix... I thought I read somewhere about a tab fix with grease?

    Large Storage Box, 02610 intermittent switch swap, "Hot Wire" Power Outlets, DRL Shut Off, Disable Fob Beep, Disable Seat Belt Buzzers, Parking Light Mod, Battery Tender, 4 Leaf Spring Pack, Rear Headrest Removal, Factory Tow Package (7 Pin) Rear Diff Mod, Taco Lean Mod, 2WD Low ECU.
    I usually use the rear brake tsb grease for the camry.

    Works pretty good. Use it on the pins, pad backs and edges.
    Very thick. not perfect but it helps quite a bit.

    The problem started for me around 55k and @ 60k I took it to my mechanic for its first brake job. He showed me where the pads are hitting inside the calipers. He installed a new set of OEM brake pads and the problem is still there. He took them back off and tried without the shims and lots of brake grease. Still make same noise. I wish someone could come up with a solution for this issue. Its firkin annoying & just another quality defect this Tacoma has. If that Honda Ridgeline wasn’t so ugly I would trade this Tacoma in for one tomorrow.

    Rear Leaf Spring TSB, Metra IPod Adapter, AFE Pro Dry S Air Filter, I was added to the truck to make it better, so does that count as a Mod?
    Guy at the dealership told me to replace the pins. He said they corrode and end up just a little smaller than the holes which causes the calipers to shift. I haven't tried replacing mine yet so i dont know if this works.

    I didn't until this past year, right around when I crossed 50k miles. I just live with it... it seems worse in the morning when I first start driving.

    My truck has had the clicking noise since it was new; she now has 42,xxx.
    I've pulled up next to people in traffic and they tried to tell me my wheel bearings were shot....haha

    I have read your post. Did applying gel grease solve your problem permanently? Because I did install new pads and applied lots of brake grease to the back of the pads. IT DID NOT fix the problem.:confused:
