I bought a Toyota... so I wouldn't have to carry tools. Tools are for non Toyota vehicles.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
I checked the other day, I have more tools in the Taco than I do in the 68 Dodge Pickup or the 62 Military Power Wagon...but I do have a nifty 1.5" socket on a 3/4" breaker bar in the Power Wagon toolbox and a pair of pliers in the 68 Dodge glovebox...

I normally build my own toolkits, either from exta's from the shop, or more typically, each vehicle has a road kit assembled from Northern Tool or Harbor Freight, depending on complexity. Since I have a my own maintenance shop, the tool kit on each truck depends on where it is going and what work it is doing:) But the basics of cutting pliers, slipjoint pliers, crescent wench, screw drivers, jack, and lugwrench doesn't change.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.

Interesting. Like many others, I have a toolbox full of metric stuff, and standard stuff. It gets hauled around in all my rigs though, from my Fords, to the Tacoma, and finally, the Jeep. Subbed to this for future reference though, great writeup OP!

That's about as ignorant of a statement one could say. Toyotas are very reliable machines, yes, but they do have their flaws like anything else. There is not a vehicle made that is 100% reliable, or immune to breaking down my friend, even a Rolls Royce. Another thing, all vehicles need regular maintenance to be kept reliable and road-worthy.

You never know, there's a lot of hardcore fanboys on here. I love Toyota as much as the next enthusiast, but know that they have their flaws as well, like anything else lol.

One of the best toolkits I have is one designed for a metric motorcycle. http://www.sears.com/bikemaster-mot...tric-motorcycle-tool/p-SPM1983873701P?prdNo=7

Sears also has their own Craftsman toolkits that are pretty nice.

BMW motorcycles also has some VERY nice compact toolkits for metric machines. Adds in the Torx and Allen wrenches with all the metric wrenches needed, etc.

I like the toolroll setup rather than a hard plastic case, so motorcycle toolroll kits do well for offroad folks.

I'd add a ratcheting offset screwdriver and stubbie screwdrivers into any toolkit, and that's where using a toolroll is a bonus. You can add some things in whereas a plastic case doesn't allow flexibility.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
What is the size of the nuts on the engine cover? In case you have to pull that off to change something under there? I think they might be 10's also, but I could be wrong.

Don't think I saw this yet, but how about a putty knife for popping dash clips? I know you can do it with a screwdriver, but this is the best way to avoid damage that I've found. I use an offset-
