How to Repair Door Windows after Downward Force Vandalism

Has anyone had their windows forced downward by thieves and had to repair them? Last night both elec pass windows were left cracked at the top for ventilation and were forced down to try to gain entry and now do not go up or down. The crooks ended up breaking the drivers side backseat window to get in, I wish they had just done this first instead of trying to force down the other two.

Any suggestions or advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

I guess you're not letting insurance cover it and take it to the dealership, so you're going to have to pull the door cards and replace the electric motors. I've done this on other vehicles, not exactly sure how to do it on the Taco, but the door cards should literally pull right off. Just grab the bottoms and pull and once you get near the top you'll probably have to lift the door card vertically to "unhook" it. Then you should have clear access to the motors.

You really won't know what to replace until you get in there and look though. There could be bent components, who knows how much force was used. Crack heads are usually pretty thin, but sometimes 100lbs can be incredibly destructive when it's fueled by meth. Definitely pull the door cards before ordering anything to get a good assessment.

At this point, it is probably going to be best to have an insur claim and let a shop get it fixed right and quickly. My deductible is a low $250. thanks for your reply.

Window regulators can be changed at home... But I have yet to do one that didn't just absolutely suck.
