Wanted to share my canine protection solution for my new 2011 Trd Sport Double Cab. Like many here my Labrador travels with me just about everywhere. I was looking for protection that had a clean look, easy removal and washable. So I used the following with a little modification.

Top Paw Quilted SUV Cargo liner (Petsmart) $32.00 on sale
1" Black strap, 1" Ding rings and 1" clips (Joanne Fabrics) $6
Canine Covers door protectors (Auto Anything) $32.00 Free shipping
Diamond Soft Anti Fatigue Mat (Home Depot) $17.00

The quilted SUV cover was a excellent fit with added cushion and grip, I believe it's 58" x 60". The black straps, D rings and clips where sewn on. You will notice a little overhang on the seats up to the doors which is perfect to catch hair. When your done you can fold the cover and trap the hair. The anti fatigue mat works well underneath to cushion the dog with a comfortable place to stand or lay down.

do you know if they have something like that for double cabs??? I am interested in somehow turning my truck into a canine transporter so I dont have to throw them in in the crates in the bed.

Looks great - but what about the wet nose marks on the windows?;)
My golden goes with me back & forth to the mountains & beach towels just dont do the job. He's a water dog and most times he's gonna be wet on the return trip. I'll have to look into one of these.

I just put mine in the back...on Wet O's. I've given up on the old hairball thing--he slobbers and the hair comes out reasonably easily.

I tried one of the slip on covers but that was such a pain in the butt. It looks like this:

Plus he was constantly shocking himself.

my solution = leer cap. Love the dog, hate the hair. He has plenty of room, but lots of windows to clean after a short trip!

Plastic tabs that slide between the window and rubber channel. The directions say it could scratch the tint if rolled down. I live in Miami and almost never put them down. I would rather open the back slide window. anyway. They are excellent for protecting the door from slobber:yay:

Reviving this thread, what size door shield did you order? 22inch or the 26 inch?

I ordered the 22 inch. By the time you close the door enough is covered.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll order the 26" since the price is close enough.

I love retrievers, mine is now almost 14, a Golden. I'm thinking about getting a Dobie next time - can't imagine another Golden, too heartbreaking as mine has been just the best dog ever. Your protection looks nice, I'll be looking when I get my new baby (dog) - Jake can't get in the truck anymore.
