I bought a ToughCover tri-fold soft tonneau used from a CL posting for $180.

It pretty much satisfies all your needs: it uses sliding brackets to clamp to the rails so they are mostly free even when in place. The top completely removes with 4 lever clamps and the brackets slide anywhere- even off with no tools. In fact, no tools are required at all, not even the initial installation. I should think most soft tri-folds are similar in design.

I paid $180 used; brand new a little over $320 or so.

Not sure if they make it for the 2nd gen, but it's called an Insta-gate, I bought it off ebay for $87

    Never ending......$$$
I have a tonnopro and love it. It's cheap and does what its suppose to do. You can still use the rails in the bed and only took about 15-20 minutes to install. Also, comes off completely in 2 mins and can be re-installed in 2 mins. for the price you can't beat it.

I have an Extang Tuff III. It was $220 shipped and I still have full function with cleats.

I love my Bak flip F1 as well. Looks grreat and does exactly as advertised for the most part. However, why do they advertise that the F1 is cool to the touch. It is black and shiny and you can fry an egg on it today in 88 degree weather. That mutha be hot!!

    Just bought it!
Question for any of you guys with the flip up covers. Are you able to flip it all the way up against the back window to have full use of the bed, or are you sacrificing that 1/3rd of your bed? I use my truck to haul motorcycles so I've gotta get the front wheels right up against the front of the bed. Even if they flip up against the window you obviously wouldn't be able to see out of the back window at all. Not like you can see a ton with a motorcycle there, but you still get some. I really like the flip up versions, but I feel like I'd be safer with a roll up.

OEM SS tube steps, Access LE tonneau cover, pop n'lock, AVS in-channel vent visors, stubby antenna, Wet Okole seat covers, bed mat, rear diff breather mod, 4 extra d rings in bed, K&N air filter.
The tri-folds, you lose 1/3 of your bed. i believe the bak-flip is the only one that flips all the way up.

Go with a roll up - you will be able to access your whole bed, and only takes a minute to roll up out of the way.

X's 2 on the roll up, I've got a Literider and I love it. Takes a few seconds to unlatch and roll it up out of the way, it's waterproof (a little seepage during Irene, but come on, it was a hurricane!) and it gives you the full length of the bed and only takes an inch or two away from the width.
