Sanity, normality and practicality will be an adjustment tho:D......but the money saved on big ass tires and gas plus time saved from taking the 05 to the dealership to have a leak of some kind repaired under drivetrain warranty every 2-3 months will help. Also will be nice to be able to accelerate against wind and going uphill in 5th gear on frwy too. Kept pile of my goodies that'll transfer over. Really, it was all about those rock chip protector things on the front of the lower corner of the bed, couldn't stand not having those on the 05......Yes, that is the Astrodome in the background.

Thanks, I'm a bit confused due to the mix of chrome and black about what to do without staring at it and poking around in some white Tacoma threads. It has chrome wheels, bumper, grill & headlights so unless it all goes it may look strange. I have 2 different sets of black headlights and not sure a color matched 2011 grill is where to go. I kept GROM audio usb/mp3/ipod adapter, WT floor mats, WO seat covers, factory cruise control, HID fogs/oem switches, bed mat, popnlock, gatekeeper tailgate theft preventer deal, light bar, Hellas, TRD skid, aFe filter, black cupholders, locking gas cap, vent guards..........basically everything except 5100s, LR UCAs, AAL, 2011 grill, black tails, and ccfl halo headlights. Taking that off would have meant holding up me getting the 08 and those are not an easy find. Drove an 11 reg cab auto 4wd (the only way to get buckets and console in a reg cab now) and with AC on and 2 people in it sucked worse than my AC did all lifted with heavy ass big wheel/tire combo.

I do have the rear weathertech black floor liner, rear black 05-08 WO seat covers for the rear access cab seats & the vent guards for access cabs that I will not be using. Didn't realize the reg cab vent guards were longer.

Mudflaps will definitely be getting a trim if not eliminated from front especially. Probably will trim all 4 and keep.

Thanks, I test drove a 2011 reg cab auto since they actually had one at there. I really like the gauges on the 2011s with the carbon fiber looking background. Wish they'd be plug n play on the 2008 but highly doubting it.

Couple of crappy cell phone pics of progress......popnlock, gatekeeper, grom audio adapter, WTs, WOs, aFe air filter, black'd out oem headlights w/silverstar ultras, fogs, light bar, bedmat, locking gas cap, Hellas, mix and match silver face/black button oem HU & new toll tag all in. This weekend will be wiring up fogs/Hellas with oem switches & OMG, the cruise control. Never knew how attached I've bcome to it until going without it, lol. Also removed front mud flaps for now, rears coming off this wknd. May trim them and reuse, not sure yet. Let's see, picked up truck Tuesday afternoon so thinkin not too bad for only having it 48 hrs & having to work. I'll get better pics this wknd....

Thanks folks......next major thing will be getting the TRD Bilsteins I never used on the 05 out of attic & on the 08 with Toytec 1/4" spacers on each side for that 1/2" of lift up front to level things out. That's gonna be about it as far as suspension mods on this one. Thinking of maybe doing some 1.25" wheel spacers just to get wheel wells filled up and turning a bit stabler. Got tinting and vent guards to do also then just see what else comes up..................like shell with racks or..........

Hah, that made me laugh. I love that term, I'm gonna have to use it. Now I only need to find a way to slide it into conversation with someone.
