K&N intake problems

    i just put a new intake on my truck and after it was all said and done my check engine light and traction control light came on when i started my truck. has anyone else had this problem? :confused:

    Did you unhook the battery before you installed it?? It may have something to do with the MAF.

    Don't know why the traction control light would be on....

    i didnt unplug the battery before i hooked it up. i was thinking of disconnecting the battery hoping maybe it would reset the system. everythings hooked up accordingly. i follwed to instructions step by step.

    Sounds like something is unplugged. I know you said you did everything right but we all make mistakes. If its still on, hook up your stock one and see if it still happens.

    yea thats true, i'll have to double check everything i guess. probably something small thats easy to overlook.

    x2 this is true. If you really want to make the intake work, get a replacement Volant or TRD cai filter.

    haha well i have a buddy that works there so i got 50% off. i couldnt turn it down, i guess im already paying for it

    yea he works at k&n. but hes not one of the guys that builds them or specializes in the filter itself. hes an elctrician that works on the machines. so not much good that would do me.
