I can feel your pain, same thing happened to me years ago in my ford POS tempo. It was only 1 deer but I was in the left-most lane of a 3 lane interstate with a semi on the side, so I had no choice but to plow directly into it. I hit it so hard the thing went airborne and flipped OVER my car and hit the car behind it. The whole front end of my car was destroyed, there was literally nothing left in front of the radiator, but I got lucky and didn't have any rad damage so I was able to drive home. Whenever I see a deer on the side of the road my first thought is "wonder what happened to the car and driver".

This goes to show. Deer are dumb. If you would have had a rentless fab or allpro bumper up front you'd think you hit a ant ;)

Glad you're both ok. Luckily you were able to flag someone down before it got too dark and cold. Time for the sport hood and some armor eh? Oh and since your intercooler pump is toast I'll give you $200 for the whole s/c kit :p

Hit a deer at 70 mph in my previous vehicle. A Neon.

New hood, radiator, fenders, salvaged airbags, and a repaired intake manifold later, and it's still on the road with its new owner performing flawlessly at 180,000+ miles.

Insurance company said it was totaled...$7,000+ damage, value was about $4,000. I think the total spent to get it back on the road was less than $700.

Thanks to all your comments...insurance company wants to total it and they haven't even looked at it yet....WTH!!! They want to pick it up from the body shop I had chosen and take it to a salvage yard in Reno NV I called them back and said hell no its not leaving my town till someone looks at it. I dont want to get rid of it cause its paid off and supercharged. I know I need a new hood, fenders, fender flares, bumper, grille, intercooler pump, headlights and subframe inside the engine bay from what I can tell and obviously a new dash with airbags.
To those familiar with northern nevada it happened on secret pass going threw Ruby Valley. Absolutly no cell service and yeah luckly someone drove by before it got dark and cold in the middle of nowhere. My truck was still running and I got it back up to 30-40 mph then I stopped to see the damage and all my coolant was spilling out so there I sat.

Eek! Glad you're ok. And hell no don't total it yet!

But if you do, you gonna part it out? :D

Glad you two are okay. A fine example of why you should ALWAYS SLOW DOWN when you see deer. They're freaking retarded, and you never know when they'll jump out in front of you. Good luck with the insurance.

I'd let them total it out and have them add money for the supercharger or just pull it off completely. If you're that attached to the truck just buy it back from the insurance company. Ask them what they want for it and then low ball them. They'll cut you a check for the remaining balance and you can have it fixed on your own.

Ya I've got dibs on the supercharger kit already if they total it out and he doesn't decide to get another taco with the money they give him for it. Sucks they wanna total it out tho, the damage really isn't that bad, mostly cosmetic as far as body parts go. Radiatior support is pretty messed up, but that's just spot welded anyway isn't it?

if they total it and you buy it back you could fix it but would suck to have a salvage title tied to it in case you ever decide to sell it or try n trade it in. :(

but if you feel like it keep the tailgate for me :) haha

Insurance decided to total it and give me $16k for it and found a 2011 toyota tacoma DC LB MGM w/3,000mi. Guy wants me to take over payments and owes 27,000. So with the 16k down payments will be low. I literally shed a tear when I found out It was totaled, but Im taking supercharger off and installing it on new taco :)
Anyone know if the 2011 are reflashable yet for SC???
