I have a 2005 Prerunner 4X2. I have for years had this small thumping under my feet while traveling down highways and regular roads. Feels like something is hitting under the floor. I have had it into Toyota and several other garages and no one can figure that out.

I now have a vibration in my steering wheel and at highway speeds it feels like there is some play in the steering. The steering almost feels like it is drifting? I have again had it into the shop again and the front end check out. They have found nothing wrong with the steering rack, suspension, brake etc. Tires were balanced a few weeks back. I am wondering if there could possible be a dead spot in the rack? A few months back I kept loosing PS and would have to use two hands to steer. I ended up emptying the PS resevoir and filling it with Lucas power steering stop leak. Have not lost PS yet. Not sure if this is linked.

Anyone else have any of these problems?

I have the same vibration. I feel it in the wheel, seat & thru the floor at speeds above 50 mph. It also makes my shifter bounce aroundike hell. I know it's not my tires, I bought new michelins last month. I still feel it thru the wheel, the seat & floor. It doesn't happen on every road. Very frustrating.
