My clutch pedal has been squeaking for two weeks now. It's been driving me crazy. So I took a look to see if something was rubbing or needed lubricating. I find out that the whole clutch pedal/arm is made from plastic, not steel. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to fix it? Do I have to take this truck to the dealership again? Thanks.

Very common problem. My 08 has done it since new. Dealership replaced clutch pedal assy dec 2010. Mar this year clevis pin assy broke on new clutch pedal. Had to be towed to dealer for warranty repair. After all that, clutch pedal creaking again. Lots of threads on this forum for same problem.

Mine too. Not every time. I was going to put some lithium on it but it is not bothering me too much.

Need to grease the clutch fork & pivot ball. That's the same noise mine made under the truck before dealer packed the pivot ball & clutch fork with lithium grease. Noise will come back again some time. Others on the forum have made greasing this area as part of routine maintenance.

There is a TSB for 6 speed which the OP has, don't believe 5 speeds are covered by TSB.

DO NOT SPRAY LITHIUM GREASE UP IN THE AREA OF THE FORK AND THROW OUT BEARING!!!

If you get it on the clutch/flywheel youll be sorry...

my truck i narrowed it down to the actuator under the dash and greased it and it hasnt made the noise in a year. its up on the firwall so the noise carries very well to the underside of the truck but im 95% sure its the pivot i greased under the dash

Where would that TSB be located? This is the only one I know of and I thought it only replaced a shaft in clutch assembly.

With the clutch pressed you need to grease the return spring pivot on the chassis and the pedal lever.

    080311003_a494064a7b7ce10bd5817125162e0fb4b77980bd.jpg

With the clutch lever up, grease the pivot where the master cylinder piston connects to the pedal.

This made my squeak go away.

I also took the slave cylinder loose and used lucas waterproof bearing grease between the ball and the clutch actuator arm. You need a 12mm to take the two bolts loose and the slave cylinder comes off. dont push the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder removed

Seems like mine is inside (more plastic on plastic sound than down in the metal workings)
