First ditch the speaker wire. It is speaker wire meant for speakers. Yes speaker wire carries electrical signals but it still isn't electrical wire.

Second. Are you going to add some kind of switch?

Yah fletch aka's suggestion is good, I would use that (it adds a circuit in parallel to whatever fuse you plug into) and pass it through the grommet in the firewall with the rest of the wiring harness to get into the cab.

Your wiring would be:

+ (hot) "littelfuse" -> through firewall into cab -> led strip 1 -> led strip 2 -> ground somewhere in the cab.

Just be cautious that the wiring behind whatever fuse you tap into is going to take the load of both circuits. Depending on the current requirements of your led strip it may/may not be an issue.

oh.. haha and yah like whippersnapper02 said you would probably want to pass it through a switch or relay so you can turn it on/off. Easiest location in my opinion would be left kick panel or close to it.

Depending on location, people often wire aux lights to the dash light circuit.

It might not be designed to carry much current. It depends on how much current your LED strips draw.
