Wind / bug deflector comparison AVS , EGR or Weathertech

Has anybody ever had the opportunity to dry fit the AVS , the Weathertech and or the EGR bug shields onto your truck?

 

I have one of the weathertech units installed on my truck.. went on fairly quick. Looks good. There is one design flaw that I sent a note to them about. At the very ends of each side of the deflector, there is about 3" that is not supported, the part right about the headlights (see pic in the link http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=5&VehId=660&Year=2006 ). That piece can get stuck on things, while I was out hunting a few branches got stuck in there and then the final straw was when I took my truck to the car wash. The fabric strips that rub against the body of the truck to clean it got stuck in there and it broke that "wing" off on one side.

If WeatherTech were to either remove that unsupported piece or support it fully it would be a better design.

Have I noticed any fuel gains... Not really... Have I had stones come up and hit my windshield, yup, twice, one chip in the glass. Money well spent, meh.... looks good but thats about it.

I installed the weathertec on my wife's CRV, I know not the exact same but similar. it definitely cut down on the amount of bugs that hit her windshield. The instructions for the weathertec actually tell you not to use a drive-in car wash and I can see the way the ends are that it could break in some auto washes.

 

I'm 100% happy with my AVS version. No paint rubbing that I know of and it actually deflects some bugs from the windshield.

Toyota Bug Deflector
So I went and bought the Toyota TRD one. After all the reading of the posts I'm taking it back as it will rub the paint off the hood.

Weather Tech
Not supported near the Headlights and can break

So AVS is the answer ????

looks like avs also unsupported on sides. Just get it or weathertech and be careful with sides. At least these things are fairly cheap.
