Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I took those retarded headrests out last spring, that was a huge improvement in overall driving experience since the view out of the back window is no longer obscured. I keep the seats themselves folded up at all times unless someone is riding back there or I need something flat to set something on.

I did this. It didn't require any permanent change to the truck, I could bolt the stuff back in tomorrow and you'd never know. It works really well, I have access to the bins, and got some rubbermaid boxes to fit in the footwells as well.

I was lucky enough to find another member here to was parting out his totaled taco. Switching out with a pre-09 is plug and play. All the bolts for the seats line up just fine. There is a small gap in the middle where the carpet is covered by the 09 center console. Get some weathertechs and it is covered up.

if any1 would like to swap interiors on their rear i have an 08 access cab and NEED the rear seats out of an 09 or newer... my son doesn't like his current seats (he's 10) and i kinda shifted a lil hard ( ok so i was racing trying to merge on the interstate) and he bumped his head on the back window, so the headrest would be great as well... so if anyone would like to swap i'm in Jax FL, pm me.

or if anyone is willing to sell the parts i would gladly take the passenger seat and headrest off your hands.

Interesting read... I didn't know the rear seats on my X-Runner were desirable to the 09+ Taco owners... I actually like the 09+ rears more because I use the back seats for my drunk friends from time to time, Although I like hearing the thud when they bump into the back window.

You could come out on top with a trade/sale of your seats with an 09+ owner.

Open to the Idea if anyone wants... Although I am concerned about carpet differences in the back. I know for 09+ there are extra holes for the pocket that will become visible with a swap.

True however with some weathertech mats the holes are almost covered up. To me it is worth it to have a functional back seat verses the 09 type.

Yea, there is. Search around. I did mine off of a how-to in here, pretty simple actually.

Edit: 1st period intermission. If you're super careful you don't have to take the seat back all the way out. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/55771-09-rear-headrest-removal.html
