motor + tranny mounts

hi everyone this is a question for all you 6 spd guys has anyone else noticed how much the motor and trans can "bounce around" sometimes when driving? i understang that they are rubber mounted to disperse vibration. anyway has anyone tried to get polyurathen mounts? seems to me that you would get more engine+ trans vib but would we still have the bucking, wheel hop, and just the general sloppyness of our 6 spd? all in all im trying to improve were toyota decided not to

 

I found this question by searching motor mounts because I just bought a truck - 98 pre reunner with the 3.4L and the auto (2wd). I had my hand on the "gear shifter" since I'm used to a manual and that is where my hand rests... anyhow, I noticed that it moved back and forth quite a bit (front to back of truck) by as much as 1 inch... It moves under acceleration and braking as well as over bumps in the road...

Anyone know why this does this? Never felt this before in any other vehicle... and yes, I know, I'm asking about a 1rst gen in a 2nd gen area, but the question is similar...
