ANOTHER drive line vibration thread.

Sorry guys, but I am not finding an answer to my question, though there are a zillion threads all addressing the same issues.
TSB0132-08 addresses the 15-25 MPH engine insulator. I have 1 month old Taco (500 miles on the odo), NEW 2011 4x4 double cab. According to the VIN compatibility, my VIN applies, but the years on the TSB state 05-08?!?! WHY would Toyota still manufacture the old insulator? Is that possible?!
I have the issue and need it resolved ASAP as I'm moving out of the country.
I also just noticed the 75mph vibe which is considerably bad.
I know a lot of people have a lot of different things they tried to fix these issues, but WTF - I'm really frustrated trying to find a solution.
Had rear leaf TSB, then added 5100's up front, set to 1.75" to level, then replaced the crap Rugged Trails to BFG AT KO's, had two alignments including the one with the TSB...I'm losing my mind trying to find a fix.
Issues:
1. Take off vibration in first gear.
2. 15-25 vibration.
3. 75mpg vibration, so bad that my seats are rattling.

HELP!

Does this TSB apply to 2011's? Has anyone had it done on a 2009+?
My dealer says it doesn't apply to my 2011...???

 

Any lift?

The TSB in the rear might have made the vibe worse Im not sure.


I lifted mine and had a vibe so Ill just tell you what I did maybe it will help maybe not.


I redid my rear end because it looked crooked and that solved most of my vibrations, I order 3 degree shims to put in the rear to help.

You could try the carrier drop though, if you wanted to.

 

Yeah there are a ton of half fixes on this issue, which I am not prepared to try on a brand new truck - and this thread simply makes obvious the severity/occurance of this issue.

No idea, I know how you feel about your "brand new" truck, but if you want it resolved sometimes you have to do it yourself not trying to be rude.

I've read over 30 threads about people taking their truck to toyota and toyota saying sorry, so they fixed it theirself.

 

I get that Vibe at initial acceleration and between 55-60. I brought the the truck in the first time to be told they couldn't feel it which wasn't surprising since I saw the guy test driving it in the parking lot. Brought it back last week as I am looking to lift it immediately but wanted to see if I could get the vibe resolved before as they will probably tell me to F myself after. I went to pick it up and they said the Vibration was gone and it was an out of balance wheel causing it. Sure enough it's still there although I can tell they re-balanced my wheels. At this point I give up since it seems to be pretty common problem with no real fix. I even mentioned that the vibration didn't appear until after the rear leaf TSB. It's not so bad where I feel unsafe but it does annoy the piss out of me to have a new truck with a vibration that can't be fixed. So much for buying a Yota to not have to deal with the BS.

 

Neo try a 1 or 2 degree shim unless you plan to lift it then go with a 3 degree shim.

 

Hunter - no problem. No offense - I was hoping Toyota would address this before I do, thus causing issues when they start claiming the vibes are cause BY the fixes I perform.

I do want to say there was a very obvious and telling issue I noticed when I had my tires balanced last weekend.
I was watching the guy spin the tire/wheel on the balancing machine and very clearly I could see the lip of the rim and the space where weights are usually mounted was CLEARLY WAY WAY OFF. When you watched the wheel spin, you could see the gap get small, then increase, etc as the wheel rotated. The guy even commented the wheels must have been manufactured out of spec. I wish I had taken video, but all you need to do is lift a tire and rotate it and you'll see what I mean (assuming all wheels are the same since they're cast).
I doubt this is the source of our vibes, but I was truly shocked to see this as it speaks to shoddy Toyota QA/QC..

 

You talking about they are out of round?

Like when they are spinning on the machine they look like they are wobbling?


If so that could be the tire or the rim, they would need to take the tire off and just do the rim to be sure.

If thats the case, that sucks.

Im getting new rims soon (not because of that), but that will help me justify getting them haha

 

Oh it was the rim construction itself. If it's out of round, there's no way to know, but within the wheel, the little concavity between the lip and the area where weights are mounted were clearly not true.

 

See if they will replace them, show them and be like WTF is this!?
