Exhaust discoloring my fender flare....

I have a 2010 white Tacoma v6 and the exhaust has stained/ pitted the fender flare, I took it in for warranty and they told me I would have to wait on a regional service manager to look at it.... That was 3 months ago.... Where do I go from here ? If this is in wrong forum I am sorry!

 

I'd say just keep persisting with the current dealer or find another dealer that will help you... If it was me i wouldn't go back to that dealer.

 

cut the fender off, thats your problem...

yup. i did that too...then spend the money he saved on a hooker

 

I like the exhaust dumping the heat away from the truck and not baking the bed. Plastic+heat+time=dry and brittle.

Get a turn-down tip.

Ok well good to know im not the only one... I originally thought well damn it just burning oil but thank goodness i havent noticed the oil level drop in the last few hundred miles. Plus if it was oil it would be behind the exhaust and not in front. Ive tried to scrub the piss out of it with regular car wash soap and even the tar/bug remover and i got nowhere. It doesnt have a texture, its kinda like its just a part of the paint... I will be trying a liquid clay bar thing to get it off hopefully this weekend. Please let me know if you find anything out because it bugs me to death.

 

I drilled a hole in the bottom of the exhaust to try and keep some of that crap from getting on my truck.

 

If it's the stock exhaust, Toyota should take care of it.

 

Try a clay bar. Worked for me.

 

Clay bar is a good idea. I used one of those Magic Erasers when I started noticing similar marks on my F250 (my previous truck) and the scorching just wiped away.

 

Do you do a lot of idling? I just seems a little unusual for that much carbon to be coming out of the exhaust. My Taco has the TRD exhaust and hardly does any idling. And I dont have a black spot.

 

clay it, then hit it with a rubbing compound, then polish and wax as usual.

 

I may try the clay thing, the dealership I deal with are bastards about it, they hassle me bout everything.
