check these out, got it for father's day present, now i'm looking for a good set of suspension to go with it, that will hold my arb bumper and winch combo.

I should have aimed higher when my wife asked me what I wanted. I told her an hour massage and a BJ. Both were good but UCA's would have been more practical.

yes they're from DSM. i got them for $525 shipped to my door, it's a much better price than the other ones, by looking at these, they are very solid with ss ball joint. i'll post a review after i drive the hell out of it.

 

you're funny dude. the BJ should of came with the massage. yeah i was suprised too when i asked my wife for those uca's but i know it's not free, her b-day is coming up soon and i know she'll ask for something nice too.

i was looking at those pretty hard. the price is pretty good compared to some other ones they have. when you say heavy duty version you mean the 886 coils right? I want to do a little bit more homework in here before i pull the trigger on the ome setup.

hey fellows, does anybody here knows why the factory uca spindle bolt has a castle nut and a pin but the DSM or any other after market uca's doesn't? should i drill a hole on the bolt and slip a pin in it, is that a good idea?

 

The stock upper ball joint has the cotter pin and castle nut as an extra safety measure to prevent loosening of the nut.

I recommend you use some loctite blue 242 and torque it to the correct ft/lbs. But do not drill the bolt, you will probably screw up the threads or weaken the bolt. Bolts with the hole in them are usually drilled before they are threaded and heat treated.

 

Also talk to Demello off road about their TJM products, a little cheaper then OME.

They are also built for the ARB bumper mine is holding up very well so far and I'm not easy on my truck (but I take care of her)

 

i was just surprised why they didn't put a cottor pin on their bolt, I guess i'll be using some loctite and torque it to 100ft/lbs per specification from DSM pdf. Now what's the 242 blue loctite? I know what blue loctite is what does the 242 mean? thanks for your help

 

Its just the number they put on the bottle. They have a different number to identify each type of loctite. 242 is just the regular blue loctite.

 

Well at least you got the BJ.......I'm lucky if I get a rub. I would have taken the BJ over my new ARB any day.
