Tonneau Installation

Hey All,

I have a chance at a used Leer 700 tonneau cover. Has anyone installed one of these? Is there any drilling etc required? Difficult?

My ARE is mounted using the rail in the bed.
Make sure you use a thick seal at front of the bed near bab, as the plastic bed caps sit higher then the front of bed.
You see a little leaking around corners, just have to play with the insulation on bed caps.
When mine was installed, they used locking pliers in front and back before mounting the mounts to bed rails.

Sounds a little tricky. If I bought the cover I would be driving about 60 miles to pick it up and then home to install. I think I could strap it down for the drive home. I just don't want to drill any holes or modify the truck at all. Your reply was helpful redezman, thanks very much.

 

mine wasnt drilled, just make sure it has the brackets for the rail system in your bed

 

outta curiosity i went to leers website...it states no drill installation ..im posting the link for you,just click more info under the leer 700 pic....hope this helps you. if it came off a toyota youll probably be good to go. if not there are probably clamp that clamp it to the underside of the bed rails. that could be an issue for you. http://www.leer.com/Truck-Tonneaus#

 

O.K. I bought the Leer Tonneau on Craigslist, strapped it down to the body and drove home. I'm not sure if it's an option but it mounted to the Toyota rail system. In all it took about two hours to install but I can probably do it in half the time now that I know how it works. I like the way it looks and I'm waiting to see if will improve gas mileage. Thanks for the replies.
