When I close the door (either door) on my Tacoma unless I slam it pretty good it doesn't close. The second attempt requires very little force to get it to close. Is this common?

Something else to add is that when the opposite door is open or the window is down it closes with little force making me want to think that it is due to a fairly pressure tight cabin. But if that were the case why does it close easily on the second attempt when the air pressure would be the same?

It's not a line up issue seen issue a bunch and I have the same prob it is very air tight. The reason it closes easy the second time is when u try closing it again ur not opening it all the way or I know I don't therefore not as much air pushed into cab

if you ever upgrade your stereo speakers, put some dynamat/second skin on the doors, you won't believe the difference in how easy they close as well as no more flimsy feel to them...

The dynamat is adding weight, which gives it more momentum, and hence easier to close. I'd recommend going to the cab vent and seeing if it is stuck or something covering it etc.

I tend to agree with your reason. Seems to be the most reasonable explanation based on the many variables involved like other open doors or windows, second attempt, etc..

I suspect it just a matter of getting use to it. On my 2000 Ranger all it took was a gentle shove to close the doors. Since I'm not one who likes to slam doors it just a matter of finding the right amount of "shove" necessary to get the door to close the first time.

Never had this problem on my 09 but I have to close the doors twice on my 12. It sucks, I'm constantly having to re-shut the door. Gonna do some sound deadening in the doors to help.

Its air pressure. If you leave your window cracked you will never have that problem again.

The dealership showed me with windows up the air pressure stops the door from closing easy, But with the window cracked the door closes fine.
