maaaaaaaaan i got all excited. the first duc that came to mind was my coveted 848... but a monster is still a fun bike too. if its what you wanna do.. go for it. i dont see the harm in getting gas mileage back with a stock truck and getting a little road warrior action in with the moto.

    all personal preference, sir.

Hahaha realized today on my way home that I would regret getting rid of my truck. Nothing like getting the thumbs up from strangers at street lights. hahaha

when they'll fix the front end fuglyness perhaps, and they'll guarantee their cams not going to roast your motor. or is that 2009/2010 models only?

Id say to keep the current taco. You'll wind up paying more in insurance, new gear, maintenance, etc. If you have already taken this all into consideration, and you still think its what you want to do, then go for it. Bikes are a lot of fun.

TBH I havent had any higher costs of ownership than I had with my Gixxer. They changed alot of the maintenance, lowering the overall costs. If you're smart (and cheap) you'll learn to do most maintenance yourself and save a ton of money.

To the OP: If you had a buyer already, I'd say go for it. In this market however, I'd say hold off till you can just buy the bike you want.
