All-in-one key

Has anyone found a key for the Tacoma that includes the key fob?
My FJ Cruiser had it, and I'm curious if at least an FJ key, cut and programmed correctly might work?

Yeah I researched a little and found the Keyport option, which definitely accomplishes the same thing... But thought an original Toyota or Lexus key might work. Apparently some Lexus and some Toyota all-in-one keys are identical in construction and hardware (FJ being one)...rigging one to work for a Tacoma seems fairly easy since the FJ is a closely related cousin...?

Some guys are running a cheap ebay key/key fob and they are cheap ebay products. They work but that's about it. Jerez has on of those.

But as far as I know no other Toyota keys will work.

Is it because of the immobilizer or the actual key?

No I think the Tacoma fobs run on a different frequency than the cars. The Tundra also has a separate fob.

Bummer. Sounds like there may be no way if it's frequency.
Not that it's a huge deal, but I wonder why some Toyotas get fobs and some get the integrated key. Is there a method to the madness?
