Pics of 2nd Gen. Tacoma with Cooper ST Maxx or STTs Please!

I'm going to buy Cooper tires 265/75/16 either ST Maxx or STTs. I would love to see some pics of 2nd gen. Tacomas with either on and would like to hear what you think about the tires.

I loved my coopers, they never let me down in the snow or mud.

 

i have run the stt's and there are way better mud terrain choices....i can tell you 100% the kumho kl71's outperform the stt's in everyway expecially on road and in snow/rain....i currently am trying km2's and so far they have been awsome also...the stt's were great offroad but lacked in on road stability/comfort and milage....stt is a great tire but for the price there are better options...

 

Thanks for the info. I actually thought about the kumho's but was worried about the street and highway driving with them. I heard many say that the cooper stt is like a hybrid between and AT and MT and drive well in the street. I spend the majority of time on the streets but go do trail runs around the local ohvs and drive in snow during snowboard season. I was going to stick with ATs but many are either not very aggresive looking or are to flashy. I have used BFGs T/A KO on many other trucks and wanted something different but now am leaning towards the bfgs again. Any other recommendations on ATs or MTs? Are the kumhos noisy on street?

Beautiful truck! Those are Tundra wheels right? Is there a name for them if I want to search for some for sale? Also what size are they? Any issues with rubbing or back spacing on these wheels?

No personal experience with them but the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's are supposed to be some pretty awesome tires.

As for a full on M/T, I vote the Firestone Destination M/T. I've got a set on my patrol truck and they hold up to all of the abuse I throw at them. Not terribly noisy on the highway.

 

Never mind about the name, I see they are Ivan Stewart wheels.

 

Duratracs are IMO the best AT made.

Amazing how well mannered they are on road.

 

sounds like duratracs are your best tire choice...if you go mud terrains deff go for kumhos you will love them ..best street my out there....but if you want an aggressive all purpose tire...the duratracs will totally satisfy your needs...i was gonna run duratracs myself but the km2's were the only tire availible in the size i wanted ..

 

Damnit those darn duratracs always win! I didnt like them on the display rack but they look better on the tacomas ive seen.

 

No, they are aftermarket TRD rims. Just go to like spraks toyota or find someplace that sells TRD parts, they will have them. The backspacing is perfect on the rims. If you run 265's there is no running, with my 285's I have a bit of rubbing, even after trimming. You should be able to find them for about $150 or less a wheel, look here:

HHHMMMMMM, Looks like the prices might have gone up on them. Just look around, should be able to find them at a decent price.

 

I have to disagree with the comment on the STT lacking stability and comfort. The only 2 downsides I saw with my Cooper STT's over my duratracks and BFG AT's is you lose milage and they make a lot more road noise. The STT's never had any some of stability or comfort issues for me. Offroad they dug and flung mud/snow/sand great and never let me down. The rubber tends to be a bit harder than other MT tires but thats to get more milage out of them.
