2006 Tacoma with 73,000 miles - brake question

I have a 2006 Double Cab with 73000 miles. I have not had to replace the pads yet. How many miles are you guys getting on your pads? I do all on road, mostly highway driving too and fro work.

I had to replace mine around 60,000 mi. I did a lot of stop and go driving though. That being said, you'll probably need to be changing yours fairly soon.

 

If you have a good brake/alignment shop, go pay for a tire rotation and ask them how much life your brakes have left.

Mine are not very worn at all, I think they said I had 80%+ left on the fronts and "barely noticeable" wear on the back at about 40,000 miles.

 

i have 102xxx thousand miles on my 05 and still have original pads on front and back, took tires off last week checked brakes and STILL have about 80% left!

 

I just had my tires rotated with the oil change on Saturday, when I was checking out, I asked how my brakes looked. The advisor told me the mechanic forgot to write it down on the ticket. I told him I would not be back.

 

I do a lot of driving(work). I am averaging 45k per change thats using TOYOTA pads. I stick with them as they have been so far the longest lasting pads.

 

Just did my brakes yesterday. 05 DC 4x4 75,000 miles and they were starting to squeak. Replaced with OEM pad/rotors.

 

How much pad was left? How thick were the rotors?

I can't imagine having to replace rotors that soon unless they were heavily damaged.

 

I got 210,498 on the original brakes on my 06 TRD OffRoad. Just had them changed last week.
