Recently I have noticed that the volume control knob on my 2009 TRD Sport with stock radio (no bluetooth) does not always work. If you turn the knob, nothing happens.

The hand controls on the steering wheel work fine.

The weird thing is that sometimes the volume control will work, if it does work it will work for the entire time the truck is ON but sometimes when started back up it is back to not working.

This seems like more of a "software" issue than a broken knob issue but I am not sure.

Has anyone else experienced this or heard of it?

    Thanks!

yup - mine does the same thing. Sometimes it just wigs out and turns itself on/off, sometimes the display all goes to shit and displays gobbledygook. Dealer wouldn't do anything unless they saw it happen, and of course it's intermittent, so i'm stuck with it.
Probably just go aftermarket before too long.

Yes its a known issue. You can take it back to the dealership or do what alot of us have done and get an aftermarket unit.

Known issue with 2009 radios. As said before you can get it replaced if you're under warranty or go with an aftermarket unit. I had mine replaced soon after I bought it and just replaced it again a few months ago.

Same here, 2009... radio volume control would stop working. Replaced under warranty 1 year ago and no problems since.

Anyone know if I can just upgrade to the bluetooth model and pay the difference? It is still under warranty
