Where to store old parts...

So, what does everyone do with their old parts when they get new ones? For instance, I'm going to be replacing my wheels and tires, but I'm keeping the stock set. Then, I was thinking about a cat back system (want to get the whole thing so I can just bolt on the new one since I can't weld). However, I live is a fairly small apartment with very little storage. I still have no clue where I'm going to put a full set of tires!

I'm sure most people here have homes and garages, but how 'bout it?

 

I have my factory rims and tires in a small shed in the back yard, my headlights/fogs are in my attic with my secondary airfilter.

 

Make the rims and tires the base of a table or stack them on the balcony. put two tires flat on the ground and put the other two tires standing up inside the others. and then put a glass table on the top of that and then you have storage for you tires and a cool coffee table.

I had actually thought about my patio, but I'm on the first floor and I don't think they'd last very long before "rolling off" on their own...

 

Now thats pretty swift.

 

Or just like a corner table. stack them all up in the corner just a short distance from the wall, then cut some ply wood and cut out a round piece that is bigger than the tires. Then just drape a sheet or table cloth over the top and no one will know that you have tires in the room

 

Oh and put the exhaust under the couch or behind it if it is on the wall. or even under the bed if you have a bed frame

 

My wife and I live in back house/converted garage. I store my spare parts up in the attic next to my tools since we don't have a garage.

I like tire coffee table idea -- gotta keep that one in mind!

 

just a warning- the factory exhaust is surprisingly large and awkward. my stock wheels have studded tires on them and they're just sitting in the corner behind our Toyhauler under a large 3-sided pole building we have. im gonna put the exhaust on the trusses in our ATV storage shed.

 

i have mine in storage has rims tires grill surround plastic piece where my sub is now i need a house!

 

Funny you ask that question....

I had a Jeep that was built and totalled. Bought it back from the insurance company and tore the thing down to parts. My basement was full of parts for 5 years. It took me that long to ebay/sell most of it. I kept certain things (bought another jeep).

I've got stuff everywhere....Jeep/corvette parts & accessories in the basement, garage, and shed.

The only thing I have from the tacoma - is my factory mirror.

 

uh......get a storage unit?
