    My job requires that I have a fire extinguisher mounted in the cab of my tacoma. The thought of drilling holes in my truck is terrifying so I don't want to put it in a location I will regret. Where is the best place for it?

    Yeah I have considered that. The problem is I'm a contractor for FedEx ground. And if the back of the cab is filled with packages it may be difficult to retrieve the extinguisher in the event of a fire.....

    It has to be in the cab. Not the bed rails. That other thread didnt really come up with anything I liked. I thought I would get some fresh ideas.

    It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
    Mount in back of cab against driver side behind driver seat.
    Flip the seat up, and should be within a arms reach to get it.
    then mount the lil one on your A-Pillar :p

    I'm leaning toward the pocket on the access door. But FedEx says it has to be "mounted"

    Supercharger, OME lift w/ LR UCAs, running boards, toolbox, extinguisher mount, skidplate, N-Fab light bar, 40" R.I. LED bar, WO seat covers, TRD intake, Weathertech mats and visors, stubby antenna, hood struts, LED interior lighting, Hella Supertones, and other stuff I'm forgetting.
    Can be a PITA but it's for good reason.
    Last year we had two separate incidents of employees getting sick and visiting the hospital after their extinguishers discharged in their vehicles while driving. They weren't mounted and bounced around until something hit the handle just right.
    They are lucky they didn't have a serious accident when the visibility instantly went to zero.
    By coincidence my wife was driving right behind one of them. At first she thought he was on fire when all the light powder "smoke" came pouring out the windows.

    3 inch lift, 275 tires, 17" wheels
    Take advantage of un-used space. With the front drivers seat in its normal position, the space under your legs is empty and un-used. I made a bracket that uses the front bolts for the seat and mounted mine there. After the new wears off you will forget that it is there.

    mounted mine between the drivers door and the seat, it touches the door, but doesnt interfere with closing. I used the mounts that came with it, ^that is a lot of cutting.

    Until it bounces loose of the mounting platform and rolls under your brake pedal.

    As long as it looks clean and professional yes. Also I like the fact that its out of the way but easy to grab when needed in an emergency.

    Mount it to the access cab door with the bottom of the extinguisher inside the door pocket. Use mounting tape to attache the bracket to the door if you can, otherwise use a couple of self-tapping screws. Drill a slightly oversize neat hole in the plastic for each screw, and a small starter hole in the metal behind the panel.

    You'll have to look behind the plastic to make sure there's metal where the mount will be, of course.

    ^I added the pic to my post, no cutting, drilling, I have it near by and if it comes undone (which it hasn't on 2 tacos and 6 years) it wont be a hazard. Only downside is it leaves a line on the door, if that bothers you, you can pad the door or the FE.

    old thread but where have people mounted in the double cab? In my access cab I have it on the driver side rear door, super easy to get to and would like something similar, also thinking about having a large one in the bed.
