Hahaha!

I swear in the manual it states that you should drive 10 miles/month in 4x4 to lube? True?

I have used 4wd on an offshore boat ramp for traction reasons. Only for 35 feet or so and of course in a straight line. Without it I wouldn't of been able to get up the ramp it was covered in slime. For the short time and distance I don't think I hurt anything.

I did not read in the manual about using 4wd at least 10 miles per month, maybe I better go read it again.

I use 4wd when I need to, 10 miles a month to keep things 'lubricated' is the one of the dumbest things in the owner's manual in my opinion. Things are going to stay lubricated even when it's not engaged. I will not use 4wd on pavement just to meet a 10 mile/month requirement, much greater potential for damage than good.

Roads have enough radius in a turn not to bind up the drive train. Parking lots do not. Using 4 wheel drive sucks up gas and wares tires if you have no need to use it. Toyota would not tell any one to use 4 wheel drive once a month if they thought they would have to pay warranty claims. I have put one u joint in my 97 in 248K, in the winter in bad weather I use 4 wheel drive, my commute is 100 miles I never know if the roads are wet or frozen it’s kind of dark at 5AM.

I will drive mine in a straight line or a road with slight curves once in a while to get everything lubed up. Just stay away from tight hard turns like parking lots and such.

What exactly do you think is getting 'lubed up' with 4wd engaged vs when it's disengaged. It's not the front diff and transfer case aren't still turning and are drying out and rusting when not in use. All you're accomplishing is confirming your actuator still works.
