My effin brakes failed on my 4 month old truck! I was pulling into a spot at the gas station and when I hit the brake it only depressed about an inch, and the truck was feeling and making noises similar to went abs kicks in, but louder and much rougher feeling. And then I hit the fucking ballast at the front of the spot!

    Seriously Toyota? No brakes?

I'm not driving this another damn inch. Toyota of Hollywood is gunn be seeing me at 7:30 when they open up today.

Has anybody else had this kind of problem? (I mean, other than all the people who's vehicles had to ve recalled:rolleyes: )

Shitty dude! Stop crashing into crap ;-)

Take it to them, have them fix it all, then when you get it back, disconnect your ABS. Freaking thing has never done any good for me (Alaskan driver).

Just left the dealership. When I talked to the service manager he told me I have to call corporate customer service myself, and when he got into the truck to move it, it had the same problem, but he refused to acknowledge it- stating "Well no, I didnt notice the problem but Im used to driving a truck." I got pissed at that point...

I told the guy that when I had brought my brother's tundra in for him, and complained about a noise it was making, they sent a mechanic out to drive around with me and listen for it, so I asked him to send a mechanic- or better yet for him- to ride down the street with me in the truck, and he of course refused.

I had AAA tow it to my house and am now waiting to here back from the case manager.

That sucks man. Ive had this happen on my truck too. Not a Toyota though, and not new, but recently on my Silverado this exact problem happened also. Whenever I would apply the brakes lightly while traveling under 5mph, the brake pedal would kick back at me hard and pulse if ABS was kicking it and become solid for a few sec, then continue to work. Found out this was the ABS module that needed to be replaced (Apparently Chevy was notorious for this). Anyways, if you ever get tired of towing the truck around, just pull the ABS fuse and drive it with no ABS if you need to go to the dealership or something. Im not sure if it would affect warantee but I doubt it. You just be using conventional power brakes and have a annoying light on the dash stay on!

Good luck and hope the dealership gets a nice call from corporate screamin at them! haha :)

Maybe it was your abs...how fast were you pulling into the spot?

What the ground wet or oily? Could the brake pads have been wet?

Did it do it again as you drove to the dealership?

If not, it could be a faulty ABS module or fuse. Definitely check that before making too big of a stink.

Sorry to sound skeptical but it just seems odd that your brakes went out on a brand new truck. It sucks you hit something because of this episode.

And find a new dealership to work with!

This makes me so FUCKING mad. I had the dealer tell me the same thing about my timing chain cover leak. So, I called corporate only to get this message, "We're sorry, but we're having a mass influx of calls at the moment and will not be able to take your call, please call back at a later time." LOOOL FOR REAL?!!? Toyota is seriously has the worst excuse for customer service. This is the exact reason why I will NEVER buy a Toyota vehicle again.

I'd have asked the asshole if he'd mind if the local news did a story on this. Having them treat you like that for a safty issue is completly uncalled for! Get a lawyer!!!!

See now if it was a non U.S. truck They would be right on it. I love my truck, but since they began getting assembled in the U.S. QUALITY IS NOT JOB ONE

That ABS in winter is super dangerous. Truck needs "lost ABS fuse" mod ;)

    Wasn't that Ford's little saying? :p

OP I cannot believe that it happened to the guy at the dealership and he still let you go home with it. I would have demanded to speak to the service manager, left the car there and had somebody call corporate right then and there.

Don't be afraid to be tough and DEMAND you be taken care of. You have a brand new truck and that thing is covered. The towing should be covered too under Toyota care.

The thing you can lose is your life should you ride in that thing. And they let you drive it home. That's awful.

:D ABS on this truck is absolutely not normal. Coupled with electronic control for brakes it can be considered Epic Failure. In winter you better off pulling fuse and driving like that then have that ABS on. it works half of the time other half it will try to kill you.

Not worried about a shit storm, I owned a brand new fully loaded 2008 Honda Accord right before this. All assembled in the U.S. Total piece of shit. Constantly in for TPMS issues, engine light, steering vibration, all types of crackling noises inside. Junk Junk Junk. I am just saying they are not built the way they used to be.

Cars in US are made to force consumer into buying new car every 3 years. ;)
So every 3 years you loose tons of money, unless of course you are shade tree mechanic and you laugh at that 3 year scam.:D
