Um... no. I tried the Costco program, I thought the deal they offered me was shit and negotiated my own deal for almost $2000 less than what Costco did. Costco's deals are generally $1500-2000 above dealer invoice from what I've seen. I may have just had a bad experience though, but I'll just stick to negotiating my own price from now on.

You are probably right. Today, buying a truck you should be close to invoice- Costco I am sure is well above invoice. Go online and search dealer cost for the truck you want, or follow the guy above but find out dealer invoice and go from there, about $200 or so above invoice is where I would start in todays economy.

Like someone else mentioned if they refuse to budge make sure you get them to throw in free crap. I always say I am a salesman's worst nightmare. I actually tell them that when they approach me. :D When I got my Tacoma after beating them up for 4 hrs on pricing I made them throw in window tint and two years free oil changes at the last minute. Said I wanted it but didn't want to be charged. I told them if that doesn't work for you than I am walking, I really don't need a new truck today.:D

I'll try and get the vin tomorrow!

Also, doesn't Toyota have a free maintenance program of some sort?!

Any ideas on current rebates, etc?!

I too toss in stuff like gas, floor mats, etc at the last second! Lol

    Cool. I work from 7-6pm.

And just so u guys know, that free crap u ask for... Ur paying for. It's called points transfer. When u "get a deal" they transfer it to ur points on your loan. It's fuked up but legal.

I got my 2011 DC 4x4 JBL TRD Sport for 28K but that was with 1k off thanks to my wife's degree. Got the college grad program = 1k off. Sticker on mine was 34k  But that was with some extras, factory step rails, tinted front windows and a couple other minor things that I cant even remember right off. You do have to keep in mind it's harder to deal now after the Tsunami.

I didn't get the net in mine. Didn't even know about it until surfin TW. ;) But did get the rear one, my understanding is they throw that one in for the JBL package to compensate for the loss of space due to the sub.

Toyota has Toyota Care, covers all maintenance including oil changes for 2 years.

Current specials in my area were: 0% for 36 months, 1.9% for 60 months or $500 cash back.

Unless you qualify for the special financing rates.

+1 My suggestion is that you offer them 28K and have them call you at the end of the month. Also be careful that they don't screw you with the interest rates, get your best deal of the financing BEFORE you go to the dealer and then have them try to improve it or at least match it.

I was able to get a quote of 28.5K for a 2011 spec like that (4x4 TRD, etc.). But I am holding until the 2012 come out.

I bought mine (same package) in May for $30,300 out the door. They were very firm on $31,500 after over an hour of negotiating. I finally said no, not gonna buy and went for the door. They gave me what I wanted.

They also offered to give me a $1500 black hard tonneau cover for $1000. I declined and got a color matched one for less than $800.

I did not get the small bungee webbing for my console, just the one for the back.

Go to Edmunds.com. Put in your zip code, the truck model, and the exact options from the sticker. You can do it at the dealership to get the exact invoice price. The site will also show you the dealer incentives and the holdback that he gets (the amount he makes even if he sells at invoice).
Everyone pays tax, license (which you can get from the DMV website), and a $50 doc fee. Any other fees are bull.

Month end is the easiest time to negotiate.

That's why I always hit them with the free crap after all the numbers have been worked out as I know they are more than happy to make you think your getting shit for free but get you on the back end. I experienced this with my Nissan Frontier but fortunately I caught on to their game early and told them to shove the truck up their asses. Plus at the time I was still in NY and there were at least 5 Nissan dealers within 30-45 minutes of each other so starting a new deal at another dealer was not a huge deal.

San Diego doesn't really haggle. If u don't buy the next person will. Have yet to see a good interest rate on them either. After gap I paid 32000 otd trd or 6 speed 4x4 access cab. After looking around that was the only one in 300 mile radius and they knew it. Hey if u wanna see some blacked badges check out my pics

LOL.... I started responding to this until someone in legal pointed out that I may get myself in trouble here.... But to make a long story short, you sir are wrong. Not in a bad way but what I can say is, the better the credit the better the deal we get as the banks risk or the manufacture risk goes way way down.

We have a couple tx pro's that have the packages your looking for. But our otd cost depends on your zip code (for tax purposes) and your credit score unless your paying cash. You can pm me your info and I can get you a quote so you can compare if you like.

I dont work in sales so I dont really have access to all the info but I can get an idea of stuff.

Also I dont want to get in trouble so if you have any questions I should probably answer them via email rather then on the forum, I dont want to get yelled at lol.

Also, I have the invoice... anyone know what "TDA" is? Its a charge of $400???

They're also charging me $200 for floor mats, $126 for door sill protector, $85 for "exhaust tip" and $73 for spare tire lock (don't mind this so much). Destination charge: $810...

TDA is local advertising, and the other things are 'costs' - sometimes negotiable, but they always try to get you somewhere else.

If you manage to get rid of the dest. charge, they definitely will make up for it elsewhere!

There's only so far you can go before you hit the price floor. But don't stop pushing until you are happy with the price.

So, you're telling me, they are charging me their ADVERTISING costs that brought me into their dealership in the first place? HA HA HA!!! Not having that!

But, I'll negotiate that crap outta there after I get my trade value cemented in writing.
