Cabin Air Filter

Anyone have any thoughts on the Fram freshbreeze cabin filter? Also where is the best place for price to get any of the cabin filters?

05 models have a place for the filter, but were shipped without a filter. Later models have the filter.

A dirty filter will clean the air better than a clean one. Having a dirty cabin filter wouldn't have any adverse affects on the truck, just means you're letting in less fresh air.

I can't see better , but perhaps you mean it will filter finer particles because the air is being forced through a smaller constriction

Correct, the little holes in the filter get clogged and create even smaller holes so even less particulate is allowed to pass through the filter. But, the flip side is flow is greatly restricted but what is allow to pass through will be cleaner with a dirty filter.

Not true. When my air filter gets loaded up, I get about 10% flow out of my vents and sometimes the blower motor stops. I have to bang on the glove box area and it comes back on until I clean it out with a shop vac and replace the filter.

Even when I'm not doing much off-roading and staying on clean streets, it still gets clogged up and makes the blower motor struggle or stop over time.

But the filter is designed to filter particles to a certain size and the smaller ones are not worth it , I'll take a clean(er) filter and better airflow

Agreed, I swap mine out every 10,000 miles or so, those tiny particles aren't doing any harm or even noticable. I was just saying. Thanks for taking the wind out of my sail...
