It's the dealership's way of saying
"this truck doesn't have the TSB, and we don't want to give it to them...So we'll put this sticker on and be on our way"

My stealership still gave me the TSB anyways tho........
so in the end, i'm talking out of my ass and just wasted 45 secs of my life. Carry on.

It has NOTHING TO DO WITH "THE TSB".

It has to do with complying with federal law about vehicle capacity notification with all optional equipment installed before the sale to the first owner.

That's the kind of BS technicality lawyers love to find when pressing home a million dollar lawsuit though.

If they don't, maybe they should?

This is how BS the federal government is. No business is allowed to have carpet longer than 1/2" in heaight, or round door knobs. You can technically sue a business is they don't obey these laws.

How about if your business is run out of your home? There are a lot of businesses in SF that are run out of homes and boy do they have round door knobs!

You're referring to ADA and that has nothing to do with the load capacity sticker on the trucks... Also, the Federal goverment doesn't regulate ADA, it's the local building authority and you can apply for variances to get around certain code-driven or ADA specifications.

    AHAHH... that makes sense now!

I think you mean to say FedGov has nothing to do with ENFORCEMENT of ADA? Because it most certainly has everything to do with 'regulation' since it's a the DOJ that does so. In fact...

"On Friday, July 23, 2010, Attorney General Eric Holder signed final regulations revising the Department’s ADA regulations, including its ADA Standards for Accessible Design. The official text was published in the Federal Register on September 15, 2010 (corrections to this text were published in the Federal Register on March 11, 2011). "

I didn't know enforcement was delegated to local inspectors' authority, though.

The relationship to 'load capacity' stickers, while a bit obtuse, is that both are examples of perceived over-reaching federal intrusion into our daily lives, whether or not warranted, that drives us to pay higher prices for absurd things of little or no value.

Unlike the carpet height and door knob shape, I do not believe the sticker is the direct result of federal regulation. I believe the stickers are the result of a multi-million lawsuit settlement and dealers' and manufacturers' desires not to get caught up in another one. But I'm easily persuaded otherwise!
